Sahriar Kabir is mostly known as a committee's leaders of   Ekatturer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee. He is also familiar as a Bangladeshi journalist, filmmaker, human rights activist, and author of more than 70 books focusing on human rights, communism, fundamentalism, history, and the Bangladesh war of independence. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1995.

His family:

his wife name is dana kabir and his only one daughter name Sahjabin kabir.His wife Dana kabir died in 13 January 2020. Sahriar kabir's daughter sahjabin kabir is the founder of Deyalkotha which is known as a creative platform that ensures empowerment of the underprivileged and marginal society through the inclusion of art and culture in their everyday life .
